Castlevania Season 2 is coming, folks. And I couldn’t be more stoked about it.
Season 1 was a pleasant surprise for me. To let you know now, I am a huge fan of the Castlevania video games. Symphony of the Night for the PlayStation 1 is one of my most treasured games of all time to this day. Some are better than others, naturally, but I’ve played them all.
When first hearing they were making a Castlevania series for Netflix, I automatically had concerns. But I get concerned about dinner. So, it didn’t matter. It was going to be seen. But I thought it would be live action. Then, I heard it was going to be animated. And not even CGI but anime style, animated.
All of the hype left my body like it owed 6 months rent. But then, it came out and of course, I sat down with my blanket and potato chips and watched with my jaw on the floor. I LOVE this series. With only 4 episodes, I just kept going back to rewatch them and never got tired or bored.
If only we’d gotten more of Dracula and the Wife – her name escapes me…Lisa, was it? There was so much building that could’ve happened between those two.
Trevor was great, Sypha was great, Alucard was badass and the action was brutal. Great stuff.
Now, here we are! Castlevania Season 2 is coming this October with 8 episodes this time! It’s obvious the creator of this show is a fan of the franchise. If you’re going to make any kind of video game adaptation, that is paramount. And it pays off greatly in this work.
The trailer does everything a trailer is supposed to do. By the looks of it, it has more of everything. More monsters, more characters, more story, more action, more Trevor, more Alucard, more Sypha, more Dracula, more episodes, more EVERYTHING.
If you can’t tell, I’m excited. Even if you’re not an anime fan, or having no smoking clue what a Castlevania is, treat yourself anyway. Check out the first Season and prepare for the 2nd one. And as Trevor would say, “Stone the F’ up”.
