Mary Poppins Returns is a sequel I’m looking forward to.

Mary Poppins Returns Trailer

When I first heard about Mary Poppins Returns being production, all kinds of memories came rushing back.

Many of us ‘older’ folks have had the pleasure of experiencing the 1964 fantasy, Mary Poppins. Even if you were a small peanut head, you’ll at least have some memories of it buried deep in your subconscious.

Now, after many years, Mary Poppins Returns with the title character being portrayed by my seventeenth wife, Emily Blunt. And by the looks of the trailer, they couldn’t have found a better actress.

Emily Looks perfect for the part!

The title suggests the best thing about this film, ‘Returns’ – meaning this is a direct sequel to the original, which is an awesome choice by the movie makers.

Mary Poppins pops back into the Banks family’s lives after the death of Micheal’s wife, bringing that same magic and cartoon color that we loved from before. I love that they chose not to make the animations CGI. Good choices all around, Disney.

Mary Poppins Returns looks really good and fun
Emily Blunt is Mary Poppins, Emily Mortimer is Jane Banks, Ben Whishaw is Michael Banks and Joel Dawson is Georgie Banks in Disney’s MARY POPPINS RETURNS, a sequel to the 1964 MARY POPPINS, which takes audiences on an entirely new adventure with the practically perfect nanny and the Banks family.

I also noticed Meryl Streep (the greatest actress of all time) and Dick Van Dyke in the film. Everything about this film screams Disney, with obvious care taken in keeping the greatness of the original alive and breathing. This is the kind of management I like to see in films revisited.

Mary Poppins Returns releases in theaters on December 19th
